Whether your roof has reached the end of its life or you've just spotted a damp patch on the ceiling, we'll come out, take a proper look and give you a straight answer. No scare tactics, no upsell — just an honest assessment of what needs doing.
We work on concrete and clay tiles, natural and fibre slate, EPDM and felt flat roofs, plus all the detail work that keeps water out — leadwork, flashings, valleys and ridges.
The types of roof we work on
Concrete & clay tiled roofs — the most common covering on UK homes. Interlocking concrete tiles are hard-wearing and cost-effective; clay pantiles and plain tiles suit older and character properties. Both are stripped, re-membraned, re-battened and re-tiled on a full re-roof.
Natural & fibre cement slate — Welsh and Spanish natural slate gives a crisp, traditional finish and can last decades. Fibre cement slate is a lighter, lower-cost alternative that looks close to the real thing and suits roofs where weight matters.
Flat roofs — extensions, garages, dormers and porches. We install single-ply EPDM rubber (seamless, long life), GRP fibreglass (hard-wearing, good for foot traffic) and high-performance torch-on felt, always with proper falls and outlets so water actually leaves the roof.
Hipped, gable, mansard & dormer roofs — including valleys, hip irons, dry-fix ridge and verge systems, and the awkward junctions where most leaks actually start.
Lead & metal detailing — code-appropriate leadwork to chimneys, abutments, box gutters, bays and porches, plus zinc-look trims where the design calls for it.
What a full re-roof involves
Scaffolding goes up first — we never cut corners on access. The old covering is stripped and cleared, the timbers are checked and any rot is replaced, then a breathable membrane and treated battens are fitted before the new covering goes on.
Ridges and verges are finished with dry-fix systems rather than mortar wherever possible, so there's nothing to crack and drop out in a few winters. Site is swept, skips removed, and you get your guarantee paperwork on completion.
Gutters, fascias & soffits
Blocked or leaking rainwater goods cause damp walls, rotten timber and stained brickwork. We clear, repair and replace guttering, downpipes, fascias and soffits — usually while the scaffold is already up, which keeps the cost down.
Repairs & maintenance
Slipped tiles, missing ridge mortar, blocked or sagging gutters — small jobs that protect your home from much bigger ones. We're happy to come out for one tile or a full survey.

- How long does a re-roof take and will the weather stop it?
- A typical semi-detached or detached re-roof takes 5–10 working days including scaffolding. We strip and cover in sections and sheet up overnight, so your home stays watertight even if the weather turns. Heavy rain or high winds can pause work for safety, and we'll always keep you updated on the programme.
- Which type of roof covering is best for my house?
- It depends on the pitch, the structure and the look you want. Interlocking concrete tiles are the best value on most modern homes, clay and natural slate suit period and character properties, and fibre cement slate is a good lighter-weight compromise. For flat areas, EPDM rubber is our usual recommendation for lifespan and seamless coverage. We'll explain the options with prices side by side.
- Can you repair just part of my roof instead of replacing it?
- Yes — if the timbers and majority of the covering are sound, a targeted repair is often the sensible choice. Slipped tiles, cracked ridge mortar, failed flashings and localised leaks are all fixable. We'll only recommend a full re-roof when repairs would be throwing money at a covering that's genuinely at the end of its life.
